Based in Den Haag, The Netherlands, SAS works closely with families in deciding on the right treatment plan for each child. Ultimately, the goal is to find a way of motivating the child using a number of different strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to ensure that the sessions are fun yet productive.

Philosophy

I believe that only intervention approaches based on published research ought to be considered when developing a programme for children with autism. Although there are many interventions currently being developed, I believe that a combination of structured teaching environments and teaching strategies based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)are found to be most effective.

SAS frequently evaluates its programmes to ensure the quality of each child’s progress and I conduct on-going training for tutors and family members. This allows for the best combination of intervention methods that will be implemented for each child’s programme.

After an initial consultation, which will consist of an informal meeting with you and your family, a plan for intervention will be designed and training provided for all parties involved. This may include other family members and siblings. In addition, it is very helpful to look at medical records, past therapies, assessments done, and school records.
